Ater a little survey, here’s the biggest regrets, people have on their twenties.
- 64% of them feel pressure to make a long-term life plan
- 69% of them feel bad about being on diet and (lack of) exercise
- 95% of them compare themselves, badly, to other person
Worse still: half of you do this every damn day. Compari-syndrom can strike in every aspect of your life, from body image to career success. - 72% of them regret at least one person they have dated in their twenties
- 28% of them regret staying in a relationship because it was comfortable
- 24% for sticking despite the signs he was bad news and 21% for not having more sexual partners..
- 77% regret a one-night stand
The worst bit 54% of you have had unprotected sex and 12% of you have caught and STI. 61% have had an abortion or know someone who has. The important thing is accepting and learning from these things. - 61% spend more than they earn
- 69% feel pressure to be financially independent – 16% of them have up to £5000 credit card debt, £38% rely on their overdraft to live and 46% have no savings.
- 81% admit there are tensions in their friendships
- 20% of them have tried to do their job whilst drunk
- 75% of them have done something drunk that they wouldn’t do sober. Get a tatoo. Vomiting in a taxi. Falling head first into the cat litter tray. Or worst…getting engaged to a stranger.
- 45% of them thought they would get their dream job in their twenties
The reason they haven’t? 28% regret not speaking up about a pay rise or promotion, and 55% regret not being more self-assured at work. Career coach Jenny Williams says it’s important to take accountability for your career - 18% of them thought they would be having way more sex than they actually are
- 11% of them post something on social media every week that they regret
So…we’ve all been there – or are still there. Walking home at seven in the morning, false eyelashes dangling. But we are all ok now. Take a deep breath
