Accept your twenties to live your thirties

What was your twentysomething about? Wearing weird too tight clothes? Having such a crude nail laquer? Surrounding yourself with people you think are cool, but in reality don’t make you happy? But that’s what your twenties are for.
Ater a little survey, here’s the biggest regrets, people have on their twenties.

  • 64% of them feel pressure to make a long-term life plan
  • 69% of them feel bad about being on diet and (lack of) exercise
  • 95% of them compare themselves, badly, to other person
Worse still: half of you do this every damn day. Compari-syndrom can strike in every aspect of your life, from body image to career success.
  • 72% of them regret at least one person they have dated in their twenties
  • 28% of them regret staying in a relationship because it was comfortable

  • 77% regret a one-night stand
The worst bit 54% of you have had unprotected sex and 12% of you have caught and STI. 61% have had an abortion or know someone who has. The important thing is accepting and learning from these things.
  • 61% spend more than they earn
  • 69% feel pressure to be financially independent – 16% of them have up to £5000 credit card debt, £38% rely on their overdraft to live and 46% have no savings.
  • 81% admit there are tensions in their friendships
  • 20% of them have tried to do their job whilst drunk
  • 75% of them have done something drunk that they wouldn’t do sober. Get a tatoo. Vomiting in a taxi. Falling head first into the cat litter tray. Or worst…getting engaged to a stranger.
  • 45% of them thought they would get their dream job in their twenties
The reason they haven’t? 28% regret not speaking up about a pay rise or promotion, and 55% regret not being more self-assured at work. Career coach Jenny Williams says it’s important to take accountability for your career
  • 18% of them thought they would be having way more sex than they actually are
  • 11% of them post something on social media every week that they regret

So…we’ve all been there – or are still there. Walking home at seven in the morning, false eyelashes dangling. But we are all ok now. Take a deep breath
